Food contactable

If you wish to avoid a spillover of harmful substances from worksurfaces to food then look for the Glass and fork symbol. The manufacturer has to document that the surface treatment of the product does not release release harmful substances into food products. This is tested by an independent third party who assesses the composition of the product. Look for the symbol!

IBR

Voluntary labelling that ensures the best possible indoor climate as well as minimum of bad odours and other forms of contamination. The product is tested by a third party independent examiner.

Recommendation:

If drying times are not followed, this can result in poor adhesion and reduced resistance. For each layer of Master Base Primer, drying times will be increased. High temperature and low air humidity will reduce drying times. Low temperature and high air humidity will extend drying times.

Master Base Primer, Natural is a water-based, quick-drying wood primer. The primer seals the wood and minimises tannic acid penetration and side-bonding. It is only suitable for untreated or sanded surfaces for all wood types before treatment with other water-based WOCA floor lacquers.

It is important that both wood and product have a temperature of min. 15°C (preferably around 20°C) and air humidity of approximately 40-60 %. Make sure that the room is well-ventilated for optimal evaporation and drying time. Final sanding must be done with fine sandpaper (grit 120). Vacuum carefully afterwards. The surface must be free of dirt, grease, wax and dust. Shake the Master Base Primer thoroughly before use.

Always remember to test on a less visible spot to check the compatibility of the surface with the product.

  1. Apply the primer undiluted with brush or roller, following the wood along its length, and allow the surface to dry.
  2. Apply a layer of topcoat with one of the WOCA floor lacquers. Leave the surface to dry until next day.
  3. Sand the surface with 120-180 and vacuum clean the surface thoroughly.
  4. Apply another 1-2 topcoats.
It is not recommended to apply more than two coats of primer/lacquer per day due to risk of excessive wood swelling.
