Located in the stunning and hilly New Zealand landscape, the welcome shelter serves as an environmental educational space that encourages visitors to take part in the environmental restoration occurring at the sanctuary.

It consists of three timber enclosures that provide storage space, ablution facilities and an office for the site ecologist. The welcome shelter was built in 2015 and is designed, constructed and operated by a group of volunteers.

The outside walls on the three timber enclosures have been treated with WOCA Exterior Oil to protect the surface against fungus and UV radiation. WOCA Master Colour Oil Natural have been used on the wood floors and WOCA Soap on the inside walls with the purpose of maintaining the raw and beautiful look of the wood – a style that fits flawlessly with the stunning surroundings.
